To provide an all-inclusive turnkey branding and merchandising solution for the Royal Australian Navy, Australian Army and Royal Australian Air Force at this landmark event.
The Australian International Airshow and Aerospace Exhibit is the largest air show in the southern hemisphere and the fourth-largest in the world. The biannual show is an important date on the defence and aerospace calendar, with 660 companies from 25 countries exhibiting at the event. The Australian Defence Force, and the RAAF in particular, are the primary stakeholders. For Avalon 2019, the ADF and its three constituent services required a strong and unique brand presence to engage trade and public visitors.

How We Made it Happen
BrandNet has an established track record of providing online retail platforms and branded products for the Australian Defence Force through Army Shop, Navy Shop and Air Force Shop. As a result, we were well-placed to meet the needs of the ADF in promoting its brand at the 2019 Avalon International Airshow. We leveraged strengths in key areas to provide a seamless merchandising and retail solution, designed to dovetail with the ADF presence at the Airshow.
A Comprehensive Solution
By harnessing our expertise in product development, marketing and retail, BrandNet delivered a comprehensive branding and merchandising solution for the ADF. Our team liaised closely with RAAF command and leadership, which was spearheading the defence presence at Avalon. The pre-event phase of the project involved creating a comprehensive range of event and promotional products specifically for the show. These products included special uniform items for the ADF and RAAF, as well as promotional items to promote the RAAF brand which were distributed to air show visitors.
The event phase of the project required us to deliver a comprehensive, self-contained on-site retail merchandising outlet for the Australian Defence Force and its three services between 25 February and 3 March 2019. BrandNet provided a comprehensive product offering with more than 190 stock lines for sale, including specially developed ranges for Navy, Army and Air Force. Our team was on site for the duration of the show to deliver a complete retail merchandising outlet, which shared the ADF brand and merchandise with approximately 250,000 visitors to the event.
BrandNet successfully delivered pre-show branding and product lines to the Australian Defence Force, as well as an all-in-one retail solution for service-branded merchandise during the Avalon International Airshow. We were commended by the RAAF for our contribution to the success of the ADF’s brand promotion during the event.
